The specifics of Rodrigo's personality and history are mostly up to the player, but these are the basics:

• Youngest of a wealthy Spanish merchant's two sons; he inherited far less than his brother, but has made good on a number of investments.
• Took an interest in architecture at a young age and ended up studying it. Gained a reputation for fine work.
• Recently moved to Venice to oversee work on a commissioned palazzo. He plans on staying, having fallen in love with the city
• He's been considered ugly his whole life and has relatively low self-confidence regarding anything but his work. He's never had any success with women. This is where Sabina comes in; since she is blind, she can't take him at face value.

How his relationship with Sabina turns out is largely up to whoever takes on Rodrigo and how they decide to play out his personality. It could be warm and peaceful or it could be tumultuous; it could be true love or it could be merely a pleasant business arrangement. Whoever scoops him up can decide if they want to play from the start of the relationship or have it already established.
